Well, here it is then:
12 Stones - They were okay. Lots of energy but the
crowd didn't warm up to them at all.
Jerry Cantrell - Well, what can I say about Jerry
Cantrell? He's no front man, he can't sing, he writes great lyrics but they'd be
better if someone else sang them, he's an egomaniac worse than Stapp and he has
a much too high opinion of his own performance. He said goodnight and proceeded
to bang out a four song "encore", pulling from AIC's library because his own
stuff sucks so bad. They ended with Man in a Box and he didn't sing lead for
part of it because he can't hit some of the notes. Unreal. People cheered louder
when he left than they did during his set.
Creed - I was blown away as usual but I really
think that Mark was having an off-night. No offense but he seemed out of tune on
half the songs and he looked physically tired and somewhat distant. Stapp
was in great form and in great voice. He eased up on the Rock-N-Roll platitudes
for a change and just belted out some great songs. They played a good
long set and the list was practically identical to the Charlotte show last
week. Brett seemed a bit out of tune a couple times too but he seemed to
recover it better than Mark did. The Meadows as a venue is a great place to see
ANY show, I think. There wasn't a "bad" seat in the place, even on the lawn
although the acoustics do leave a bit to be desired.
Anyway, I'll let you know how the Mansfield show is
tomorrow night. I'll have a pretty good view of things from the PIT.
BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!
